Aqua massage therapy
Using sports massage techniques with aqua massage therapy to get deeper into tight muscles and work them into relaxing back to their neutral state.
It works by the client laying face up on the bed so if you have issues laying on your front for extended periods of time, then this will benefit you.
Pregnancy massage therapy
Using the aqua massage therapy, you will be face up throughout this treatment. Aches and pains will diminish as you relax into the warmth of the aqua cushions and ease into the massage treatment. Suitable for mums to be who are over 12 weeks and their pregnancy is low risk.
Cupping therapy
An ancient form of Chinese therapy whereby a cup is applied to the skin in order to draw and hold the skin and superficial muscles inside the cup. The skin and muscle can be manipulated by moving the cup during suction. The cups are applied to areas where pain is felt, deeper feelings of pain can be pulled up via the tissues. Cupping can help with; poor circulation by encouraging circulation, sciatica, musculoskeletal pain including stiff or painful neck and back, muscular stiffness, reducing inflammation, anxiety, fatigue.
NOTE – There will be red marks left on your skin from the application of the cups which can last up to 10 days depending on personal aftercare.
It is suggested that clients who are excessively hairy to shave / wax 48 hours prior to cupping treatment.
Additional information before booking
- Vaccinations: It is advisable to not receive soft tissue therapy within 48 hours of vaccination so please ensure that you don’t have any vaccinations booked within the 48 hour period before your massage session.
- A minimum of 24 hours notice is required to cancel/ change day or time of the session. Failure to do so, or not turn up for the session will result in the session fee to be paid, if within a package, one of the package sessions will be used as payment.
Contraindications to massage therapy treatments:
- Deep vein thrombosis
- Heart disease
- Undergoing cancer treatment / not currently in remission
- Auto immune disorders including HIV and AIDS
- Uncontrolled epilepsy
- Had a stroke within the last 6 months
- If you have had whiplash you will be required to have been cleared by you Dr following an x-ray
